Just a Thought! ….
Is it easier to be short and fuller figured, than it is being tall and full figured???
I’ve been noticing that since I dropped a few pounds I’ve been shopping a lot more in the stores that maybe I normally wouldn’t go into but I’ve also noticed that because I’m a bit wider and tall that clothing tends to be a lot shorter. I have a friend that has basically the same measurements that I do … off by an inch or two depending on the area and she is able to find so much more things than I because she is soooo much shorter then I am!!
What happened to the days when manufacturers actually put a hem in garments so that people like me could have it taken out to lengthen things. I find myself constantly having to but two things instead of one.
I think this little rant was a result of me being super annoyed … sometimes I become so frustrated with finding clothing to wear that is reasonably priced, of relatively good quality and good fit. I’m not aking for the world here am I???
Having one concern when looking for clothes is one thing but having two is another.
Feeling just a bit annoyed ….

It’s a challenge to dress any woman no matter how tall. It all depends on where we carry most of our weight! I have a fetish for JC Penny. Did you know that they have talls (34 1/2 inseam) and ultra talls (36 1/2) and skirts 29″ long. I know that they are not runway fashions but I have never had a problem with them. Also try tallcouture.com and long tall sally they are fabulous also. Hope this is helpful.

I truly understand your frustration. There is very little room to lengthen hems in pants now. As a 5′8″ tall plus size curvy girl who carries more weight in the lower half of my body, I find that Banana Republic and Ann Taylor Loft do a great job with leaving room to lengthen pant hems. BR’s Jackson Fit in a Tall is great and AT’s Curvy pants seem to work well for me. WHen I do get the regular’s there is still enough room to lengthen.

OMG! I think you wrote this post for me. I have the same issues. I am look WOW..everybody hates tall girls.. I would think that plus size retailers would understand dressing women outside of the fashion norm. But I find I have a limited number of places to find pants. So I just wear dresses a lot.

This is interesting! I’m 5′4″ and always find things are not cut right for me – made for much taller women!
