Ladies … I’m super excited!! After recovering from being without my laptop for sooo long, having no Microsoft applications after I bought a new laptop until yesterday and sorting through over 5000 emails I’m glad to say I feel as though I’m officially back in business. 

Enough about all of that let’s get down to business… many of you have heard me speak about ASOS in the past,they are listed in the SV Approved section as a recommended place for you to shop.  I’m excited to bring attention to the new line that was launched just today!!

Finally ASOS has launched a line dedicated to women with Curves.   I love the name!! ASOS describes their new line as a “Trend led collection for sizes 20-26.  Featuring all the key fashion pieces you will need for a season” .  Which means lots of trendy basics that can be easily mixed into your existing wardrobe. 

I like the line so far, I look forward to the additional pieces that are expected in the coming weeks … Im just worried about two things; the exchange rate and the length of some of the pieces.  As you all know I’m very tall and often time plus size clothing never fits me well because some of the pieces are too short.

The best thing about this whole thing is that they do ship to Canada and the shipping is super cheap!! $6 – $12 that’s all!!

For the first time ever, I ordered a dress from Igigi.  Truth be told I have never been a fan of Igigi. 

The styles introduced at Igigi over the past year or so have really caused me to second guess my previous sentiment.  I used to think the clothing line was a bit tacky and very typical but this year my opinion has changed … even though I’m not head over heels in love with everything Igigi has to offer, there are a few pieces I can see myself in. 

So let me continue by saying this: 

Igigi is ON POINT when it comes to GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. 

The site was very easy to use and I received my merchandise super quick.  If memory serves me correctly I placed my order on the 8th of October and on the 9th of October it was shipped even though there was a holiday around the same time I swear the package came in like 3 – 4 days, I was shocked!!  Professionally packed and hung on a hanger I was really excited to try my new dress on.

So of course I ordered the Lola Asymmetrical Dress in Fuchsia  … I couldn’t resist, my name and favourite colour all wrapped up in one dress.  I had to make it mine!!  Unfortunately it didn’t fit, it was too big, the sizing at Igigi is definitely generous.  I order a 18/20 but I guess I need a 14/16.  I didn’t like the look of the fabric at first but I did like the overall look of the dress once I tried it on.  I must say I’m IMPRESSED.  Igigi does make a truly well crafted good quality product.  I will definitely buy from them again and I suggest you try them out as well if you haven’t done so already.

Although I’m sad that I had to send my dress back I’m very happy that I will be getting a new one very soon and that I’ll be able to share a picture if me in the dress with all of you.  Stay Tuned for pics coming shortly!!

Earlier this week I posted some pics from Carmakoma.com, a Triple F Friendly site that I recently stumbled on.   As promised, here is more information about this amazing store.

Exclusively sold online, Carmakoma is a Danish label for curvy women created by the dynamic designing duo Angelica Weiss and Heidie Lykke. 

Launched in the summer of 2008, Carmakoma’s designs are said to be inspired by the music scene and the world’s major cities.  Even though the duo does not appear to be plus size themselves, they claim to design the clothing according to their own personal preferences of what they like to wear.  Quite frankly; that’s what many plus size women are looking for clothing that everyone else would want to wear.

Sizes range from 10 – 20.  Price point is a bit on the high end for us ordering from Canada because of the currency conversion.  I converted some of the prices from Euro to Canadian dollars and on average the item were $100.00 CAD and up + the shipping costs of about $50.00 CAD and up.  If cashflow isn’t an issue Carmakoma does ship to Canada. 

Overall I really like the clothing available and I would say they have one of the nicest websites I’ve come across for plus size women thus far.  I look forward to seeing whatelse Carmakoma has in the pipeline for the future!!
