I was visiting one of my daily blog stops FGLNCT Fat Girls Like Nice Clothes Too and stumbled upon the new Spring/Summer 2010 line from Dorothy Perkins.  All SV readers lets thank Deena very much for sharing this information so that I could share it with you! 

The new line is hot!!  I’m in love with almost everything I see.  I really need a UK connection that travels to Canada often, for me to start ordering from DP.  That way I can save on the astronomical shipping cost and buy more clothes.

Ladies, I’ve found a chic store while visiting one of my fav blogs:  Fat Girls Like Nice Clothes Too! 

Dorthy Perkins is a large British clothing chain, most popular in the UK.  Accessible, aspirational and affordable, these are the words used to describe what they call High Street Fashion, DP as it is commonly known guarantees that their clothing will be feminine, sexy, wearable and confident.  I have to agree with them for the most part the clothing is pretty hot!! 

What I love about this store is that they cater to everyone offering sizes 6-22, tall, petite and maternity ranges.   They promise you’ll always find something to wear whatever the need or occasion.  Check out some of my favourite pieces:

I find myself constantly being forced to shop online.  Being a “Fly Triple F”, living in Toronto isn’t easy.  Not only am I a self proclaimed Triple F but I also stand about 6′0 tall and I wear a size 11/12 shoe depending on the style, I find the selection of clothing and shoes available to me very limited.  So instead of perusing the mall and leaving empty handed I search the web and find lots of things (if only I had enough money to order everything)  

One problem I’m finding is that most of the stores that I order from only delivered to the USA.  Luckily I have an amazing Aunt that lives in Buffalo, NY and I ‘m able to send stuff there.  Most recently I ordered some stuff from Torrid.  A hot fuchia dress, some spanks (a total must have for any Triple F’s wardrobe), fish nets and a few other items.  Half of my order I didn’t like either because it looked different then I thought it would or the fit was not suitable for me.  Not only did I have to pay over $100.00 for shipping and custom costs but I also would have had to pay to return the items. 

Instead, I decided to hop in my car with my girlfriend and take them back to Buffalo.  That way I would be able to see what else was available.  Let me tell you something, America is the place to be if your a full bodied women, everything is at your finger tips.  My girlfriend and I had a ball!!  When placing the order I knew about the shipping costs but the customs charges totally through me off. 

I think ordering on line is great if your order is free of customs and shipping charges but shipping to Canada is really a pain in the ASS.  I will continue to shop on line only because of all the choice that is available to me but I have decided to only ship my orders to my Aunt’s house from now on even if the company ships to Canada it’s just not worth it.

SV absolutely loves what Mewv is trying to do, and the fact that not only are they concerned about sustainability but they’re also trying to cater to all shapes and sizes are definite plus’.  I don’t know about you but it’s been a while since I’ve seen a butterfly.  That says a lot about the destruction our earth is undergoing.

Finally Asos.com carries clothing for the Full Figured Female.  I have been a fan of asos.com forever and for a long time I’ve only wished that they carried sizes that fit me so that I could place an order or two.  The clothing on this site is very cutting edge.   SV has noticed just a few draw backs.  1^st: There are NO Triple F Models on the site, it’s hard to determine how the clothing will fit when you are looking at an example of an underweight skinny chick.  2^nd: You will need to really make sure you are totally in love with whatever it is your buying because the prices are in pounds; big money.  3^rd: Some of the items have NO LYCRA yes ladies that what I said no STRETCH, personally I feel like everything designed with the “Triple F” in mind should have some LYCRA.  Clothing with Lycra just fits better lasts longer and washes well.   Last but not least we noticed Asos.com only carries up to size 20 so for those of you who are bigger then that unfortunately you are out of luck.

Faith 21, is Forever 21’s new trendy plus-size line.  I’m so excited!  There have been many times that I’ve walked into that store and have had to leave empty handed.  Although the new line is only available at selected stores it is also available online.  Unfortunately Faith21 is not yet available in Canada, as you know we’re the last to get everything and by the time it gets here it always ends up being some watered down bullshit.  Lucky for me I have an amazing Aunt who lives in Buffalo, NY.  I often times ship all my fashion finds, shoes, clothes anything I can get my hands on to her house and then pick it up or sometimes she even ships it to me. (Thanks Auntie L).  Being as FLY as I am ain’t easy! 

For those of you who don’t have this luxury you may have to plan a shopping trip!  All my Triple F’s across the border and beyond who are lucky enough not to have to suffer through these trials and tribulations, good for you get your shop on!  The price point is very affordable and the clothing is really cute.  It’s about friggin’ time, that’s all I have to say.  If only all the other stores we love could get on board, life for the Triple F’s would be so much easier.

Fashion designer Anna Scholz has been a long time supporter of the Triple F community, catering to all the Full Figured and Fabulous ladies around the world.  Recently she launched a brand new fashion collection and website to showcase her wares.

Anna Scholz has been in the game for quite some time now and continues to put forth her best season after season.  Her clothing line is on the higher end of the spectrum and to be honest with you, I have never purchased or worn any of her garments, therefore I cannot attest to how good the quality is or anything like that.  From what I hear her stuff is well made and very beautiful.  I’ve been in the industry for a long time so I have many reliable contacts!! 

Anna’s 2009 Spring/Summer collection includes a quite a few pieces that are SV approved!

Ladies you know SV is international and we report on anything and everything that is full figured and fabulous.  If you live in Portland, Oregon or ever happen to visit you need to stop at Fat Fancy.   Fat Fancy is an incredible underground clothing boutique location in the Portland, OR area.  They specialize in carrying funky, edgy vintage and modern clothing for the Triple F Female (Full Figured and Fabulous) and also men.   Beth Ditto one of SV’s favourite Triple F’s, shops there too!   Right now they are apparently located in a basement and are trying to raise enough money to open a store front.  They have created a video which they have entered into a contest where they are hoping to win the money needed.  Let’s help them out and vote for the video.  Click here to watch and vote!!
