Is it easier to be short and fuller figured,  than it is being tall and full figured???

I’ve been noticing that since I dropped a few pounds I’ve been shopping a lot more in the stores that maybe I normally wouldn’t go into but I’ve also noticed that because I’m a bit wider and tall that clothing tends to be a lot shorter.  I have a friend that has basically the same measurements that I do … off  by an inch or two depending on the area and she is able to find so much more things than I because she is soooo much shorter then I am!!

What happened to the days when manufacturers actually put a hem in garments so that people like me could have it taken out to lengthen things.  I find myself constantly having to but two things instead of one. 

I think this little rant was a result of me being super annoyed …  sometimes I become so frustrated with finding clothing to wear that is reasonably priced, of relatively good quality and good fit.  I’m not aking for the world here am I???

Having one concern when looking for clothes is one thing but having two is another.

For the first time in over 20+ years I decided to do something that has shocked many including myself.  I decided to go O’Natural …. that’s right No Weave, No Glue, No Chemicals … No Nothing.  I cut my hair in fact I’m basically BALD. 

What would cause me to do something so drastic …. well I was inspired by many things but I mostly just wanted a change.  I was really nervous about the whole endevour and consoled myself, be advising myself that I could always get a wig if it didn’t work out but I actually LOVE my new look.

It’s amazing how many compliments I get now and how many people commend me for my bravery.  A very close friend of mine encouraged me to go ahead with the transformation he assured me that it would bring out the face and features that I had been hiding behind weave and other extensions for many years.  I thank him!!

Cutting your hair can be a very liberating experience, for me it represents a new start to a new me and a deeper appreciation for who I am as a person.  In fact I’ve never felt more beautiful and free.

You all must be wondering what the hell happened to Lola, did she drop off the face of the earth??  My youngest daughter spilled a mug of ginger tea on my less than a year old laptop!!  That’s right water damage … the type of damage that is not covered under 3 year warranty that they up sellyou at the point of sale.  Needless to say I’ve been able to purchase a new laptop and I will be back in business.  I know it’s late but I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year.  I look forward to seeing what the new year will bring for Style Vanguard.  I also want to apologise to the people with whom I made arrangements with for postings during my forced hiatus!!  So glad to be back I have lots in store for you in 2010

I just noticed that most of the pictures I took in JA, for some strange reason did not load on my laptop during the transfer from my camera to my laptop.

This means 90% of my photos are lost!!  I have no pictures to share with you all.  I’m really confused I have no idea what happened.  I only have 2 other videos that I can share.  I’ll have to wait and see if the rest of the gang that I travelled with have any shots they can share with me, so that I can share with you.

Hey everyone, I must say I really missed being able to upload SV and all of you sooo much.  Getting a strong enough connection in JA was challenging which left me unable to upload while I was away  I’m back now and will be using the rest of this week to upload some of the pictures and videos I took while I was away.

I’m going to the sunny island of Jamaica tommorow morning.  My flight leaves at 10:45 am est. 

My very close friend Tasha and her fiance Shean will be tying the knot on Sunday November 8, with the amazing Jamaican sunset as their back drop.  They have asked me to stand up for them as a bride’s maid.  This will be the second wedding I’ve participated in this year. 

Now onto the fun part.  JA is a place where the word inhabition does not exsist.  Being a Triple F is the only way to go down there.  The men like their women round like an english pound!!  (If you are of West Indian decent or have any  WI friends then you know exactly what I’m taking about)

I can hardly wait to get there … the great thing is I’m going to be taking SV right along with me .. which means you get to come too!!  That’s right Lola’s going to be blogging live from JAMAICA!! Yeeeh Yeeeh

Stay Tuned… I will be taking lots of pictures of me in all my different outfits and some of the locals with great street style.  I’m planning on getting an amazing tan that will carry me through winter … got to find a nude beach so I can avoid tan lines.  I only have one problem … tried on my animal print bathing suit that I got from Old Navy this morning and guess what … it’s too big.  Where am I going to get a bathing suit now … only God knows.  Wish me luck and check back for updates live from JA. 

Hello Everyone, I’m back!  I had a great time the warm weather was wonderful and the convention I attended for my day time career was inspiring as always. 

I didn’t get a chance to shop, bummer … even though I was located right beside a great mall with all my favourite stores Nordstroms, Macy’s Victoria Secrets, Crate & Barrel, OMG.  Just didn’t have enough time. 

While away I realalized just how much of a real blogging adddict I’ve become over the past few months and boy did I really miss speaking to all of you.  Blogging has become such an intrgual part of my exsistence.  I LOVE IT!!

One a side note I ate way toooo much junk food this weekend.  There is just too much food in the States, just too much to choose from, too big portions, too many restaurants it’s just too much. 

Any Who … glad to be home missed my kids and my bed.  Going to take a nap to recover from a mild case of jet lag … I have a hectic week ahead of me, which will require me to be well rested.  Also I have lots to share with you all so check back often.
