Ladies … I’m super excited!! After recovering from being without my laptop for sooo long, having no Microsoft applications after I bought a new laptop until yesterday and sorting through over 5000 emails I’m glad to say I feel as though I’m officially back in business. 

Enough about all of that let’s get down to business… many of you have heard me speak about ASOS in the past,they are listed in the SV Approved section as a recommended place for you to shop.  I’m excited to bring attention to the new line that was launched just today!!

Finally ASOS has launched a line dedicated to women with Curves.   I love the name!! ASOS describes their new line as a “Trend led collection for sizes 20-26.  Featuring all the key fashion pieces you will need for a season” .  Which means lots of trendy basics that can be easily mixed into your existing wardrobe. 

I like the line so far, I look forward to the additional pieces that are expected in the coming weeks … Im just worried about two things; the exchange rate and the length of some of the pieces.  As you all know I’m very tall and often time plus size clothing never fits me well because some of the pieces are too short.

The best thing about this whole thing is that they do ship to Canada and the shipping is super cheap!! $6 – $12 that’s all!!

Many would say that T-Shirts and Jeans are great for weekend or casual wear but to me there’s nothing better then a Great Tank Top and/or Tee Shirt with a Great pair of Jeans; this is one of my all time favourite looks.  I Love, Love, Love a Cute Tee Shirt. 

While surfing on one of my favourite blogs Afrobella, I came across a T-Shirt line that I had to share with you all.  The only thing better then a great t-shirt is a great t-shirt with a great message.  

Cut It Out Apparel makes t-shirts and dresses with bold, outspoken, straight forward statements.  The website is pretty basic and there is not much information about the company and/or it’s background but I guess the t-sirts say it all. 

Affordably priced and available in sizes up to 2x these t-shirt would be great anytime depending on how you rock it!!  Cut It Out Apparel gets two thumbs up from ME!!

I was on the hunt for a new pair of jeans, so off I went; to 1 of the only 2 places that I’m able to purchase denim, because of my height.  I arrived at Tall Girls and asked one of my favourite sales assosciates if they had any new jeans in store, right away she brought me two pairs of jeans one moderately priced and the other really expensive.  I tried both on and there was absolutely no comparison.  I couldn’t beleive the instant transformation that took place right in the change room. 

That day I purchased a pair of NYDJ at Tall Girls; in Yorkdale Mall.  BOY OH BOY are they the BOMB!!  I would have to say with ease that these are by far the best fitting jeans I’ve owned in a long time. 

The Stretch, the Fit, the Automatic Tummy Tuck and Butt Lift.  WOW!!  Did I mention that I was even able to buy a size smaller then I usually would; size 16 instead of 18/20.  These jeans are truely incredible.  I have to let you in on a little secret … although I have been blessed with what I would consider a Great Shape .. you know small waist, but hips etc… there has always been one thing missing.  I don’t have an ASS … you heard correct Lola’s got NO BACK!!  I gotta tell you though when I put these jeans on they did wonders for my behind.   Normally jeans flatten the little ass-et’s that I have but these jeans made me look like a million bucks!!  Keep in mind I did spend a pretty penny these jeans are not cheap but they were worth it.

Two Thumbs Up and a High Five to the creators of NYDJ.  Job Well Done!!  I would highly reccommend these jeans to any women who wants a great fitting pair of jeans.  Most styles are available in sizes 2 - 24.

I haven’t published a SV Approved post in a while but I’m back with a new store.  Dream Diva is an Australian based web store with a brick and mortar location selling clothing exclusively for the plus size woman sizes ranging from 14 – 24.  Not sure how long they have been around but the store looks promising.  They are dedicated to the notion that fashion is for every female, and promise to provide the latest looks from around the globe; made to enhance and flatter your figure.

I didn’t fall in love with everything on the site but they did have a few evening dresses and a couple tops I thought were nice.  I’ve included my favourites.

They do not ship to Canada yet but they do ship to the USA.  Canadians don’t worry I’ll be contacting them to inquire about shipping to us too!!  I’ll keep you posted on the update.

Recently launched and new to the web, Aspiring Couture is an online boutique and fashion blog featuring the original work of aspiring designers. The purpose of Aspiring Couture is two-fold; first it is to help these truly amazing designers flourish and prosper, second, it is for those who are searching for something different and original to perfectly communicate their personal style. 

The Great thing about Aspiring Couture is that they take custom orders, meaning that we can get our size.  Right now the offerings available are limited but my philosophy says more demand more supply.

Ladies, I’ve found a chic store while visiting one of my fav blogs:  Fat Girls Like Nice Clothes Too! 

Dorthy Perkins is a large British clothing chain, most popular in the UK.  Accessible, aspirational and affordable, these are the words used to describe what they call High Street Fashion, DP as it is commonly known guarantees that their clothing will be feminine, sexy, wearable and confident.  I have to agree with them for the most part the clothing is pretty hot!! 

What I love about this store is that they cater to everyone offering sizes 6-22, tall, petite and maternity ranges.   They promise you’ll always find something to wear whatever the need or occasion.  Check out some of my favourite pieces:

Let me start off by telling you,  NEVER in the history of my 32 years on earth have I been soooo excited about receiving a package in the mail.  I have ordered countless items of clothing and shoes and other things for my 2 girls and I’ve never been as pleasantly surprised as I was yesterday morning. 

I drove to the mailbox that morning on my way to work, in my mailbox there was a key for the parcel compartment.  I knew it was the package from Jibri, that I had been patiently anticipating, as I hadn’t ordered anything else recently.  I opened the parcel compartment and there is was a bright pink/fuchsia box … OMG pink is only my favourite colour.  I returned to my car and used my office keys to quickly open the box. 

I removed the neatly folded items from the pretty pink box and honestly I couldn’t beleive my eyes.  The clothing looked so much better then I thought it would the quality was just amazing the impeccable sewing and attention to detail almost brought me to tears.  I instantly fell in love with my new pieces from the Jibri Collection. 

Later that evening I stopped at my girlfriend Q’s house to show her the goods we both spoke about how hot the stuff was and how good I was going to look in them.  Then finally I made it home I immediately ran up stairs to try on my new clothes. 

First I tried on my new Graphic Print One Shoulder Dress.  OMG it fit perfectly!! 

FYI:  Jasmine allows you to request a custom fit at no extra charge, who the hell would pass up on that.  The attention to every little detail totally blew my mind.  The gathering detail that was placed perfectly in the waist area, accentuated my figure and the slimming way in which the skirt portion of the dress was sewn would make any women look like they have an hour glass figure and for those like myself who were blessed enough to be born with one it only makes you look even better. 

I have one word to describe this dress: FIYA this shit is HOT!!  I will definitely be causing mass hysteria when I step out in this number.  OK enough tooting my own horne…

On to item number two my new Ruffled Front Halter Top.  I order this specially for an all white event I will be attending the first weekend in August.  This top is just gorgeous, the fabric chosen is of great quality.  I can’t wait to wear this out.  I’m going to pair it with a gold tube dress I found at American Apparel, it’s actually suppose to be a dress but I’m going to rock it as a high waisted skirt.  Guess what the biggest size they have available is medium.  I’m going downtown tomorrow to try it on,  if it doesn’t fit I’m just going to by two and sew those bad boys together.  The fabric is really stretchy so I’m hoping with my spanks on I will be able to sqeeeeeeze, if not you already know what my back up plan is. 

Then to top it all off, my new BFF Jasmine added a Metallic Blue Clutch with Fuschia lining.  Jasmine straight up I LOVE U Girl.  You da BEST!! 

I had all intentions of posting a piece on each item once I wore the outfit, you know like after I had gone out in it for an evening but I was just too damn excited.  I couldn’t control myself.  That’s why the pics look like I just threw the clothing on, because that ’s exactly what I did. 

Ladies I solemnly swear before you and God, I will be slowly purchase almost every item in the Jibri Line.  It is the BEST plus size designer women’s line that I have seen thus far. 

Jasmine I wish you all the success in the world you are truly a talented DESIGNER!!  This is the best thing that has happened to the plus size industry in for ever, as far as I’m concerned.

Earlier this week I posted some pics from Carmakoma.com, a Triple F Friendly site that I recently stumbled on.   As promised, here is more information about this amazing store.

Exclusively sold online, Carmakoma is a Danish label for curvy women created by the dynamic designing duo Angelica Weiss and Heidie Lykke. 

Launched in the summer of 2008, Carmakoma’s designs are said to be inspired by the music scene and the world’s major cities.  Even though the duo does not appear to be plus size themselves, they claim to design the clothing according to their own personal preferences of what they like to wear.  Quite frankly; that’s what many plus size women are looking for clothing that everyone else would want to wear.

Sizes range from 10 – 20.  Price point is a bit on the high end for us ordering from Canada because of the currency conversion.  I converted some of the prices from Euro to Canadian dollars and on average the item were $100.00 CAD and up + the shipping costs of about $50.00 CAD and up.  If cashflow isn’t an issue Carmakoma does ship to Canada. 

Overall I really like the clothing available and I would say they have one of the nicest websites I’ve come across for plus size women thus far.  I look forward to seeing whatelse Carmakoma has in the pipeline for the future!!

I have been watching B & Lu evolve over the years.  I must say, the selection available at this Triple F friendly online boutique has been getting better and better as the years go by.  As far as SV is concerned this year has been the best one thus far, they have just outdone themselves.  I love, love, love too many items to mention.  Above I have posted a few of my favourites.  

Often times Triple F’s have to pay way too much money to look stylish, I like the fact that the clothing at B & Lu is affordable.  I can’t speak to the quality of these items but based on the price point it’s a 50/50 chance that it may be half decent.  After all you get what you pay for.

Searching the web so you don’t have to, SV came across indiDenim an innovative company that makes custom denim jeans.  Customers are able to order custom fit designer jeans made to their measurements.  The company says they are trying to make designer jeans a reality for the plus size consumer who is often overlooked by other premium denim brands.  I really like this concept, I think being able to get jeans that are made specifically for any body type is an amazing idea. 

Finding a good pair of jeans isn’t easy, being  Tall and Triple F like me, makes it even harder.  The site allows you to create your jeans step-by-step.  Colour, wash, hem style, zipper, length etc …. it walks you through the entire process.  The site is extremely user friendly and I think the jeans a priced very reasonably especially since they are custom made.  Can’t speak to quality but once I purchase a pair I’ll be sure to let you all know!!
